Halifax Vandals 2s showed that rugby is for all during their 35-12 loss to Cleckheaton, with 68-year-old Keith Woodhouse pulling on his boots for a run out while Carl Standidge swapped the 1 jersey for a run at fly-half.
With injuries and unavailabilities seeing the 2s travel with 12, Woodhouse rolled back the years to help out and while Standidge might not be from the Marcus Smith school of fly-halves, he certainly enjoyed his time in the backs.
The match was a keenly fought affair, with Josh Morrow and Chris Metcalfe making some good runs, while Janek Kaz continued to impress.
Callum Gerrard registered his first competitive game at hooker, and showed that all the hard work in pre-season was paying off, while Niall Corley looks to be one for the future.
